May 31, 2014 (off camera)
The console of the sedan was the only thing that illuminated the interior of the car aside from the streetlights as Carson and Kasey were leaving the fast food restaurant. After saving her from having to give Nessa a disgusting foot rub, he invited her to join him and Arabella for a late dinner. That just required them to go back to the hotel and pick up a guest which he had yet to mention to her. With one hand on the wheel and watching the road, he used his free hand to stuff one of the doughnuts into his mouth. Apparently he was a bit hungry.
"So…." He said with quite a mouthful. "Why are you hanging out with Nessa? And...did I see you giving her a foot massage when I saw you?" One doughnut was inhaled practically as he fished out another one, stuffing it into his mouth.
Kasey looked down at her lap, clearly mortified that he'd actually witnessed her being degraded like that. "I… uh. Well… see… there's… uhm." She really couldn't find any words to explain what had happened.
"I'll take that as a yes. There's some hand sanitizer I stuck in the dash there if you want to use it. I don't know where Nessa's feet have been. Probably in some kind of intellectually elite sludge...where she lives." He added before glancing over to her and down to the remaining pastries in the small box he had bought. "But I still want to know why you were in her corner tonight...and then here. You're not forming some kind of tag team, are you?"
"God no!" She leaned forward and rummaged around until she found the hand sanitizer, squirting out so much on her palm that the car reeked of it. Rubbing it into her fingers, she shuddered, glancing over at Carson again. "Remember when she made that announcement that I was going to be her security?"
He nodded as they pulled to a stop at the red light. "I do. I remember wondering what was going on then too. Now's a good time to tell me everything, because apparently there has been a few things that was left out."
"Oh...kay." Kasey took a deep breath, still rubbing her hands together because she could still feel the clamminess of Nessa's feet clinging to her skin. "See… I didn't tell you because I didn't think it was going to turn into this big of a deal. Back in December… Nessa caught me getting ready for my match— the Moment of Impact match at When Worlds Collide. And uhm… I kinda panicked because she took a picture and was about to tweet it so I said I'd do anything for her to not break that story and I mean it really wasn't much of a scoop because she would have ruined the whole show—" she had to stop to breathe because the words were running together. "And since then, she's kinda been holding that over my head so…." Kasey turned her head, looking at Carson and there were tears in her eyes.
The agent didn't respond at first, furrowing his brow finally as the car began to move again after the light changed. "But the show is over now, months past. You could just...not do this. I mean, she can't really do anything to you. If she tried to attack you, I'm more than confident that you could defend yourself against her. So why are you still doing anything at all for her?"
"I just… I gave my word, you know? And what kinda person would I be if I just blew her off and totally just reneged on it now? That would make me… well… like her and that's the last thing I want to be." She sighed, shaking her head, "and I know what you're saying. I don't owe her anything… I do know that I just feel like maybe if I did a good thing for her, she would stop being such a sucky human being. I swear to God, I didn't know they were going to ask me to do this… and when I tried to say no, they said they were going to have someone break Richard's legs. Mr. Houser scares me," she admitted the last in a low voice, shivering, "I seriously think he's crazy."
"I just think he's ridiculous." Carson replied as they sat in silence for a moment before the hotel was seen up the street ahead of them. "Look, we'll figure out a way to fix all this. Maybe we already have a way. I mean we talked about Tori, and she still owes us a favor. As a matter of fact, that's who we are going to pick up to take with us tonight. Well her and her brother. I found out tonight Tori doesn't have a license, it got suspended because she got a ticket and ended up telling the judge he was an old geezer who hadn't been laid since the turn of the century. So...she's been driven around to all those shows."
"So… she has a driver and it's her brother? I wonder if it was his idea to do the whole underwear thing." Yeah, she was never going to get over that. "I bet he's just as horrible as she is. Seriously… that girl and Nessa could have been hatched from the same rotten egg." Before they reached their destination, she snagged one of the doughnuts that was left in the box, popping it into her mouth.
"It's funny you mention that. Because after all that mess with her hiring Tori to be you...well you'll see." He added with a grin before they pulled into the parking lot of the hotel and parked. Carson switched off the ignition and hopped out, waiting for Kasey to join him as he locked the vehicle back and the pair headed inside towards the elevator. "She's joining us because I invited her. I didn't realize she couldn't drive, so I couldn't just leave him hanging out. That'd be kinda rude. So it'll be us, those two, and Arabella who is supposed to be getting ready after her match earlier." Carson tapped the button on the elevator and they were off until they reached the fourth floor and stepped out.
Kasey pulled off her glasses, cleaning the lenses against her skirt as she followed after Carson, rationalizing to herself that hanging out with Tori and her brother couldn't possibly be as horrible as watching Alex Houser and Nessa Wall make out for an hour straight in the back of a limousine on the way from the airport to the arena. "They told me I had to stop leeching off Sabra and staying at The Luxor. And that I had to break up with—"
As he listened to her, Carson approached one of the doors and gave it a knock as he turned his attention back to Kasey. As soon as the door opened, a young man with spiky black hair and more than a little bit of five o'clock shadow on his face pulled a black t-shirt down over his chest and looked from Kasey to Carson with a smile. "Hey, Mr. Black. I'm ready to go, just waiting on Tor."
Carson nodded his head as he checked his watch, then glanced between the two. "Oh, I'm sorry. Kasey, this is Tori's brother, Jason. Jason, this is Kasey Summers."
Kasey stared at him, her mouth working but no sound came out. Suddenly she felt very underdressed and— oh God, he was adorable! She couldn't stop staring at him, that image of his naked torso burned into her brain. "I… uhm… hi?"
"How's it going?" He asked, offering her his hand and flashing a smile. "Nice to meet you. At least...the real you." He followed with a wiggle of his eyebrows and a little smile that made Kasey blush.
"That's alright, Jason. It's no rush, we don't have a reservation anyway." Carson added. "How does she look?" Kasey might have thought Carson was talking about her, but when Jason responded, it was clear he wasn't.
"You wouldn't even recognize her." He responded as a pair of footsteps was heard getting closer.
"Would you get out of my way?!" The voice of Tori was heard before Jason stepped out of the way as he was requested till his sister shoved him with both hands into the hallway. Jason turned to look back at her as Carson did the same. And there was Tori, short blond hair now with a pair of glasses on her nose. She looked just like…
"Kasey, you know Tori….or the new and improved Nessa Wall." Carson said with a smile.
She bore a very close resemblance to Nessa, enough that it made Kasey actually take a step back, shuddering. "Wow. That's… seriously creepy." Glancing over at Carson, she realized now what he'd been alluding to in the car. "I can't get over how much you…" she shifted her feet and ended up stepping on Jason's foot. "Oh God, sorry!"
Tori glanced to Jason and then back to Kasey, shaking her head. "Uh, you totally have some drool right there on your bottom lip." Then she glanced back to Jason and her mouth dropped open, before she exclaimed loud enough for the floor to hear her. "OH MY GOD, YOU'RE ATTRACTED TO MY BROTHER?! EWWWWWWWWW!! YOU'RE SUCH A SLUT!"
Jason's eyes widened as Carson put his head into his hand, shaking it back and forth as Tori looked disgusted.
Kasey blushed even redder, shaking her head back and forth. "I have a boyfriend, Tori… remember? I'm just feeling a little out of sorts tonight. Was probably that doughnut I ate— sugar does crazy things to people, you know." She was babbling and she knew it. "Do you have a hoodie I can borrow or something? I just feel a little inappropriately dressed in this." The fact that she'd forgotten to bring her street clothes to the arena was definitely coming back to haunt her now.
"Do I look like Target?! No, I don't have a hoodie. I was told to dress up like Nessa, so I brought all kinds of preppy clothes that make me look like the world's oldest pep squad member." Tori exclaimed as Carson stepped in.
"I'm sure Arabella has something you can borrow, don't worry." He told her.
"So are we going to eat now, or what?" Tori asked to no one in particular. "I'm starving, and she looks like she's hungry too…..SLUT!"
Jason cleared his throat as Carson let out a very prolonged sigh. "Yes….I'd also appreciate you using your inside voice."
"I'd appreciate Kasey keeping her tongue in her mouth. I realize she has a boyfriend, dude looks like the father on Diff'rent Strokes. But watching her gawp at my brother...it's kinda revolting." Tori turned her eyes back to Kasey. "SLUT!"
Kasey's head began to ache from the night's events, and this wasn't helping. The only thing she knew at this point was their plan to repay Nessa was about to go belly-up; Kasey didn't expect to Tori to last the night….because she was about to knock her out herself!
